Are there still places left on this planet which haven't been explored by human beings? It seems that the rocky massif of Foja is one of them. In western Papua, the Indonesian part of New-Guinea, this region covers 300.000 hectares of virgin forest and shelters unknown or very rare species of amphibians, butterflies, birds of paradise, hardly observed mammals. The leaf designs, the natural structures and fibres, the "zen" colours of the new Omexco range breathe the calmness and the purity of a paradise on earth. The collection comprises 2 product groups: the sisal fibres and the bamboo/paper weaves. - For the first group, sisal plant fibres are carefully selected, washed, sun-dried, hand- woven on traditional looms by craftsmen, then paperbacked. Some references are dyed in one colour after the weaving process, some are woven with multicoloured sisal strips which create very subtle colour effects, and some are first dyed, then printed with elegant and decorative designs.
- The second type of wallcovering is composed of a sophisticated weave of bamboo and paper strips on a paper backing. The delicate colours remind of nature and wellness : water green, rose petal, coffee jade, topaz, haze, cocoa, amber, nasturtium, linen, sandalwood, olive...
All wallcoverings are delivered cut length (width 90 cm for the printed sisal, 91 cm for all other wallcoverings).
